The Little Mystery

By Madeline Ileleji

It’s in your pocket

No it’s in your bag

It’s on the bed

No it’s in your parents house

It’s on the lips of the crowds

No its hidden in the wardrobe

Its somewhere in the past

Actually its here in the present

I think it moved a little too loud

Into the future

The girls gossip about it

The boys stare at it

Women go looking for it

Men call it silence

What are we actually talking about

Everyone’s babbling

Everyone’s not hearing

If there was a little silence would it be too much to ask

Let’s take a step back and puzzle it out

Are you okay?

Do you know?

Is it in the news

Must i brush my hair to hide it

Is it broken

Are we still looking

Tell the truth,

no body knows what it is

Take a step back,

Breathe in, breathe out

Do you see it now glaring back at you

Through the mirror

Tears washed away and a tired

Face

Just breathe and look at it

…………………………………….

The mystery is you,

we’ve solved the little mystery

It’s all been you,

Paper taped and glued

No, its not that

Memories and lessons

It’s actually not broken

Its just human

Angel wings and a Godly soul

And some human emotion

To water the days it counts

Nobody knows the real you

They get the fragments of the truth

I hope you know you

At the end of the day,

you are not one of them

running around

Trying to solve the little mystery
